Observing Chair
This is my recently constructed observing chair. It still needs sanding and finishing before I can declare it done. Here are some pictures from the night I finished it.
I borrowed heavily from other's designs, especially Pat's chair shown on the Telescope_Observing_Chair Yahoo Group.
One of the design decisions that I'm particularly pleased with was how to keep the folded up chair all together. I used the pin that holds the lower retaining arm to hold the rear legs when in the closed position. The following pictures show the pin in the open and closed positions.
I also made some supports for my folded up chair that will act as a cradle for my Orion XT10 Dobsonian OTA.
